Join us in this two-day watercolor workshop for painters with some experience. Designed for artists with an interested in advancing their creative and technical approach to watercolor painting, and in expanding their subject matter. Build upon the skills you have acquired to create stronger artworks.

Instructor: Helen Klebesadel, Helen Klebesadel Art

This class will be held at Olbrich Botanical Gardens on Saturday & Sunday, April 20 & 21, 10:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. 

Supplies required for class:

  • One set tube watercolors - at least four colors including red, blue, yellow, and a violet. Bring a few more of your favorite colors if you can.
  • An assortment of brushes
  • A pad of inexpensive watercolor paper around 18x24 inch (or equivalent loose sheets)
  • 4 or 5 sheets of a good quality (140 lb) cold press (textured) and/or hot press (smooth) professional watercolor paper either 22x30 or 22x15 in
  • Two water containers
  • A white plate, enamel butchers' tray, or watercolor palette
  • A roll of masking tape and a roll of scotch tape
  • One bottle of liquid mask
  • Speedball Signature Series Calligraphy Pen, available at Dick Blick
  • Scissors and Xacto knife
  • Pencils and kneaded eraser
  • A WC painting board large enough to hold your largest paper (corrugated plastic sheet, foam core, plywood, Formica panels, or masonite.)
