Learn how to create a Homegrown National Park right in your backyard! Native plants are key to gorgeous gardens and our food web, providing habitat for beneficial insects that many of our birds and furry friends eat. Join Director of Horticulture Jeff Epping as he discusses garden design ideas that combine natives with non-natives. He will give you a plant palette to get you started or to improve what you already have in your home landscape.  An assortment of native trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, bulbs and spring ephemerals will be highlighted in the class. If you have the time before the class, please read Nature’s Best Hope or watch one of Doug Tallamy’s lectures on YouTube to gain an appreciation of the importance of native plants in our gardens.
