Artists of all skill levels will enjoy learning the traditional and contemporary styles and techniques of Chinese brush painting. You will learn techniques such as wet-in-wet, glaze, and outline styles, as well as the calligraphy for the following subjects: camellias, lotus, peony, dragonflies, and more. Bring your own supplies, or reserve and purchase a $25 supply kit from the instructor on the day of class.

Supplies Needed for Class
- Bag lunch
- Rice Paper (roll or pad)
- Asian black ink
- Asian natural bristle brushes, one medium and one small
- Palette
- Felt (to place your rice paper)
- Set of watercolors: Chinese white, yellow ochre, Prussian blue, crimson, orange, burnt sienna; more colors are fine
- Paper weight (smooth rock is fine)
This class will be held at Olbrich Botanical Gardens on Sunday, April 24, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
We are currently following local public health guidelines, so masks/face covers are not required at this time.
