Create serious or whimsical cards for family and friends by using traditional Japanese contour style and calligraphy. Learn different watercolor techniques while painting summer flowers, such as, morning glories, orchids, plum blossoms, peonies, iris, camellias and sun flowers. You can bring your own supplies, or a supply kit ($25) can be purchased from the instructor and reserved at the time of registration. 

Instructor: Stella Dobbins, National Watercolor Society

Ages 18 and up (Adult)

This class will be held at Olbrich Botanical Gardens on Sunday, July 23, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 

 

Supplies Needed for Class

  • Bag lunch
  • 1 Set of tube watercolors
  • 2 140lb. watercolor cold press pads, one post card size and one larger about 9" X 11"
  • 2 Asian brushes, one medium and 1 small
  • 1 small bottle of Asian ink
  • 1 palette
  • Black felt to place under your paper and paints
  • Water vessel

We are currently following local public health guidelines, so masks/face covers are not required at this time.
